So Jay and Shouhei are talking and getting to know each other, and during the conversation, Shouhei mentions that Jay has the potential to be a good medium. Jay of course knows a fair bit about the scam artists of the Victorian era, but even so he does have fascination with the paranormal, so... this is probably what will happen after the conversation:

It all began after my conversation with Mr. Matriel. After he had concluded my possible potential as a medium, my interest in the paranormal and the occult was once more sparked into life. Upon my research into many books and using that confounded laptop to search up the subject, I came across this strange book and what I can only assume is an amulet of some description for sale in an old library in Crookshaven that I had somehow missed in my previous expeditions around the town.

The text appears to be Middle English, and sometimes it isn't clear to me what it all means, but the book itself... I think its an encyclopaedia. Of demons? Spirits? I'm not entirely sure.

All I know is... that since putting that pentacle amulet with its five keys around my neck the first time... I've been having strange and horrific dreams...

Have I stumbled upon something that should never have existed?

FUN FACT: The amulet is based upon a very similar amulet in the comic 'Simon Sues' [link] . However, rather than based upon the five senses and the 'evil eye', this amulet is a pentagram and is based upon the elements and planets.

Mercury -> Water -> the symbol for female with horns, Jay's far right key (viewer's far left).
Venus -> Earth -> the symbol for the female gender (supposed to look a bit like a hand mirror apparently), Jay's near right key (viewer's near left)
Earth (Demeter) -> Spirit/Life -> Cross in a circle. Middle key. I chose Earth to symbolise Spirit (the fifth element in some occult religions) on the basis that Earth is currently the only known planet that can sustain life.
Jupiter -> Air -> The '4' symbol. Apparently is meant to either look like an eagle or a lightning bolt. Jay's near left key (viewer's near right).
Mars -> Fire -> The symbol for the male gender. I guess it looks a bit like a spear? (or a particular male organ...) Jay's far left key (viewer's far right).

Sun -> 'Divine Spirit circling the Seed of Potential'/ No element -> engraved into the central stone in the pentagram. Symbolising the potential of the individual wearing the amulet.

I'll try to ink and colour this later on. Maybe. ((and this isn't canon... I think))
